Okay stop! You’re brain is probably being overloaded right now.
Wiping faces off, fixing clothing, moving teeny hairs, putting shoes back on (of course this is just while taking family photos).
Your hands hits that alarm clock, dress the children, cook the breakfast/lunch/dinner/35 snacks throughout the day, wash the hands, grab the Bible, read three sentences, put the Bible down to save the baby stuck in the toy barbie car, pick up the toys, wipe the butts, change the diapers, give directions, spank the kids (I don’t know…omit if this isn’t your cup of tea?), give the baths, put on the clothes, pull the teeth, put on the goggles. Take off the goggles. Fix the goggles. Put on the sunscreen. Change the bathing suits. Flip the pages of the books at bedtime, give the hugs, tuck them in, and, of course, that’s just a portion of what these momma hands do every single day.
It’s hard. I know. It’s tiring. I KNOW. It’s the best thing and the most difficult thing all at the same time. I know.
And not to write off daddy’s hands, of course. I mean there’s a whole song written about those hands so hopefully they are in the midst of it too. And if not, hang in there. I’ve been there before and know when momma’s hands are flying solo it’s so very hard. But you are strong! Believe me.
The things your hands do probably go unnoticed. The things your hands don’t do probably lead you to think those awful lies of “I’m not a good mom”, “if only I were more like _________”, “I should’ve ___________”, “maybe I can redeem it all tomorrow.”
Just know…as a fellow mother up to her neck in baby/toddler/childhood life, I see those hands. Striving and striving to love and care for our children so well. You are doing good, momma! Thanks for walking this motherhood road with me.
10 An excellent wife who can find?
She is far more precious than jewels.
11 The heart of her husband trusts in her,
and he will have no lack of gain.
12 She does him good, and not harm,
all the days of her life.

and works with willing hands.

22 She makes bed coverings for herself;
her clothing is fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is known in the gates
when he sits among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them;
she delivers sashes to the merchant.
25 Strength and dignity are her clothing,

26 She opens her mouth with wisdom,
and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
27 She looks well to the ways of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children rise up and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “Many women have done excellently,
but you surpass them all.”
30 Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
