At least two kittens and a beautiful orange, white and black momma have made their home under my porch. This is foreshadowing an event so I felt you should know.
Remember when I was like, yeah…I’m going to do t, u, v, w, x, y, and z. Well it’s 10:35 as I sit down to write this and according to one of those items, I was supposed to be in bed…now…6 minutes ago.
To wrap up Day 1, I was up until at least 12:30. And it was totally planned as I got super invigorated around 9:30 to work and was like heck no…I’m not going to bed. I also blame my two year old who has followed suit with the night owl life.
Day 2 consisted of a sweet back porch morning in Isaiah. I often linger on the thought of God’s love. Isaiah quickly reminds me of human evilness and His wrath that need not be forgotten. (Crap. I just remembered that thing I told myself to set a reminder for. This will officially be short and sweet.) I tend to think that the world’s all of the sudden the worst, but sometimes I read scripture and am quickly reminded we’ve been wretched for quite some time.
Today I am grateful for peanut butter cookies, people who have far more wisdom than me and share it, and the artesian well semi-close to my town that delivers me Devine water. Also, the guy who delivers it. I’m thankful for him. He’s got a nice aura and I’ve never seen him cranky as he carries three 5 gallon water jugs at a time to my front door.
Once again, avoiding TV was no big deal. The urge to check Facebook has already started to wane. I did catch myself start scrolling a couple times and quickly (like within 1.72 seconds put it to an end). Spending hours upon hours outside is no big deal (yet…once it reaches 105, my tune will change) and my favorite. Hinoki oil buzzing in the diffuser making all things lovely. (One day this week I will explain the Hinoki oil’s purpose in connection to “nature).
Side note: if you’re just joining the party, and want the full story click here. In a nutshell, for 21 days, I’m participating in a completely made up experiential exercise in which I increase or decrease time/resources spent on the following: gratitude, breath, spending, rest, media, nature, quiet time.
Not going to lie, I did not stop and focus on my breath at all.
Spending. Okay, let me just say that in my first draft of my first blog to introduce this, I had repairs listed in my spending approved list and then I took it out and just thought I’d lump it into emergencies. BUT then I remembered I was mid project on two separate house projects and ran out of paint/stain. So…I’m taking it to the council, my husband, to see if we are going to approve this. As of today, I chose no. Here are some things I did not buy because of this project. Spoons, paint, stain, grass seed…did I mention spoons? Four spoons are in my house, half of which are dirty. Yes, I will be ransacking my backyard tomorrow in search of them. On the plus side, I found some grass seed under my carport today after I told myself I would not purchase any. Winning!
Okay…I suppose I’m going to talk myself into going to my bed and breathing now.
Bye friends! 🙂
Thank you for sharing!
